Asking the big questions.

What if school was a place to uncover your unique gifts? The school has many great options for all people, no matter where you are academically; the school has a place for you.

Philippa

I love my Tutor group and the family we have become over the years! I love seeing their faces every morning and laughing with them.

Luke

The small and interconnected community is one of my favourite aspects of ϳԹԴ. With the smaller cohort, I find it easy to establish diverse relationships across not only my year, but years below and above me, creating a strong school community.

Clare

I love going to ϳԹԴ, what I particularly love about this school is the sense of community – the way Pre-K students play with Year Sixes and how in the high school everyone looks out for you.

Abigail

There are many aspects of BMGS that I love. Personally, our school’s co-curriculars are my favourite part of BMGS, in particular our sports program. Through sport I have grown my confidence and made life-long friends. I highly encourage everyone to engage in these activities.

Roman

Grammar has so many opportunities for me to experience.  As I begin my senior schooling, I am looking forward to being a part of the community and developing my interests in sport and drama as well as my leadership skills.

Jess

At BMGS, sport is a fun way to get involved and make new friends. I’ve been doing basketball at BMGS since Year 5, and I’ve always loved the community and experiences. From early bus rides to the city, to winter home games, the sporting experience has always been a love for me at BMGS.

Takumi

I like BMGS because we can play and build tall buildings.

Ethan

BMGS provides excellent opportunities for students of all ages. Through my involvement in the STEM co-curricular activities and the Odyssey program, I have experienced this first-hand. As a Year 11 student, I had the opportunity to work alongside a group of Year 7s, offering guidance and support with their tasks. Another aspect I value highly at BMGS is the strong sense of community and the dedication of the teachers. Their encouragement and support create an environment where I feel fortunate to be surrounded by such positive and caring people.

Kinga

Drama at BMGS has given me the courage to step onto the stage and discover parts of myself I never knew existed. It’s more than performance; it’s a journey of storytelling, creativity, and connection. Drama has taught me the true power of expressing myself, building confidence, embracing challenges, and sharing my voice with authenticity and purpose.

One particular thing that I really enjoy is Wild Ed. Wild Ed is a perfect opportunity to connect with the great outdoors, and encourage others to be involved with things that they normally aren’t involved in.

Kerry

My favourite part of BMGS is the large variety of co-curriculars offered. My personal favourite is tennis because I get to have fun with my friends after a long day at school.

Good learning, doing good

Our philosophy—Good Learning, Doing Good—shapes all we do. We bring together academic rigour and a deep commitment to social responsibility, guiding students to grow as confident, capable and compassionate individuals. Learning is active, creative and relevant, grounded in inquiry and real-world application.

We want students to feel a strong sense of purpose and to graduate ready to thrive—equipped with the skills, mindset and values to make a meaningful impact. It’s more than a philosophy—it’s how we teach, connect and grow. Discover how we create a school where students are known, nurtured and inspired to become their best selves.

We grow changemakers

Learning at BMGS is inquiry-driven, creative and purposeful. Our pedagogy encourages curiosity, critical thinking and courageous action. We equip students with the knowledge and skills to excel—and the confidence to lead positive change in their communities and beyond.

We grow connection

At the heart of a BMGS education is a deep commitment to connection. Strong, respectful relationships between students, staff and families create a safe and supportive environment where every child feels known, valued and understood. Grounded in our Anglican faith, we also nurture each student’s spiritual development, encouraging them to explore life’s bigger questions and grow in their relationship with God through reflection, prayer and shared values.

At BMGS, our Christian values are central to all we do. As an Anglican school, we believe each student is uniquely gifted by God and entrusted with talents—just as in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30). In this story, Jesus calls us not to bury our gifts in fear, but to use them courageously and faithfully for good. This teaching underpins our commitment to helping every student recognise their potential and grow into the person God has created them to be.

While deeply shaped by our Christian worldview and Anglican heritage, we celebrate diversity and foster an open, inclusive culture. Students of all backgrounds and beliefs are warmly welcomed and supported as part of our community. Each week, students attend Chapel and take part in RAVE (Religious and Values Education) classes, engaging with Christian faith and values as part of our School’s mission.

ϳԹԴ is proudly rooted in the unique and vibrant Mountains community. We believe values like service, connection, and responsibility begin locally—and that global change starts with meaningful local action.

As an active community member, BMGS partners with local organisations, supports outreach initiatives, and encourages students to respond to the needs around them. Through volunteering, fundraising, and environmental action, students are inspired to contribute with compassion and purpose.

These experiences foster empathy, agency, and a strong sense of responsibility. Our students learn to see themselves as contributors to a better future—in their communities and beyond.

As we embrace future-focused learning, BMGS continues to create opportunities for students to grow as informed, courageous changemakers—starting here in the Blue Mountains, with an impact that can reach far further.

We believe that thriving students are those who feel safe, supported and deeply known. Our approach to wellbeing and pastoral care is not an add-on—it is central to our worldview. Across every year level, we intentionally build a culture of connection, belonging and trust, where every student is encouraged to flourish.

We grow character

Character is the foundation of a meaningful life. We intentionally nurture traits such as integrity, empathy, resilience and responsibility—helping our students grow into thoughtful, grounded and compassionate people, ready to contribute with heart.

Our values and behaviours

“ What we value should be seen in the way we act and behave. One without the other simply does not make sense. These values and behaviours help us to strengthen our focus.”
