Creative arts

The art of expression

Creative arts play a vital role in helping students express themselves, think critically, and build confidence. At BMGS, our programs inspire curiosity and imagination, providing a space where students can explore their talents, collaborate with others, and develop skills that enrich their lives well beyond the classroom. Our students regularly receive nominations for prestigious HSC showcases, reflecting the high calibre of creativity and dedication nurtured here.
Our Music program offers a wide range of opportunities, from individual lessons to ensembles and large performances. Students build technical skills and confidence while enjoying collaborative experiences in bands, choirs, and orchestras. Regular concerts and events provide a supportive platform for students to share their passion and grow as musicians.

The Kedumba Collection

The Kedumba Collection of Australian Drawings is recognised as the most significant collection of  Australian drawings outside the National Gallery and is held in trust for the people of Australia. Established at ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÊÔ´ in 1990, the Collection is housed in the former Headmaster’s residence, now a dedicated gallery space with works rotated regularly. Our connection with the Kedumba Collection reflects BMGS’s commitment to the creative arts, giving students and the wider community ongoing opportunities to engage with outstanding works by leading Australian artists, including James Gleeson, John Olsen, Elisabeth Cummings and Wendy Sharpe. Making space to create

Whether on stage, behind the scenes or in the studio, our students speak about the role creativity plays at BMGS.
Milo

Thanks to the guidance of our amazing drama teachers, we auditioned and were invited to perform at the ATYP Intersection Festival. Drama has helped me grow as both a performer and a person — I’ve been able to push out of my comfort zone, try new things, and have experiences I’ll always remember.

Penny

I really loved the drama program where we were part of the whole school musical. This helped me to become more confident about dancing on stage and singing in front of an audience

James
